September competition
Write a poem about something happy or exciting which Is just beginning to happen. It might be a visit from a friend, a game, a discovery, something you are looking *t — or hundreds of other happy or exciting things. When you write jour poem imagine you can see the thing — or person or animal — you are describing; try to touch it and listen to it and smell it. Try to be that thing vourself. Do not worry about how other people have «T i . tten on th* subject. Write about yo Ur subject the way j-ou find it.
Address your entries to: Tikumu, “lite Press.” P.O. Box 1005. Christchurch. The closing date is September 30. Rules:— Write your name, age, and address on the first page in the top right-hand comer. Ask an adult to sign your entry stating that it is your own work. Prizes:— Gift tokens will be awarded to the three best entries in these two age groups:— Nine years and under, ten years and over.
