Blue Star wins rugby
The annual Blue Star-Gold Band Taxis rugby metch. held at Bumside Park yesterday, waa won by Blue Star, 13-12. The winning trv was scored for Blue Star by Paul Shennan, and converted by Colin White. Other points came from penalties. A big crowd attended the match, and the player of the day trophy was awarded to Len Reece, of Blue Star Taxis. , Tennis.—Harold Solomon (U.S.) j has held off a determined bid , by Ken Rosewall (Australia) for a 6-5, 6-2, 2-6, 8-6, 6-3 victory in ' the finals of the World Cup tennis tournament of champions in New York, Solomon won 860,000. ; Rosewall, who turn, 43 in November. reached the final last March with victories over Wotiek Fibak (Poland). 1-6, 6-3, 6-3„ Hie i Nastase (Rumania), 6-3, 6-3, and i Eddie Dibbs (U.S.), 6-2, 6-2 1
