Policemen hurt in crash
Two policemen were admitted to hospital on Saturday evening after a collision between their patrol car and a Christchurch Transport Board bus. The accident occurred about 10 p.m. at the intersection of Cranford Street and McFaddens Road as the bus was making a U turn. The patrol car hit the side of the bus. One of the men. Constable Craig Mete, was admitted to the intensive-care ward of the Christchurch Hospital with leg, chest, and head injuries. His condition last evening was described as fairly comfortable. The other policeman, Constable Mark Pullar, suffered chest and leg injuries hut was discharged from hospital yesterday morning. While the bus straddled Cranford Street two cars collided head-on as they tried to get past it, but noone was injured.
