Ecological conference
About 200 people are exI pected to attend the Ecologi- ‘ cal Society’s national conferi ence in Christchurch on Wednesday. ! Some 150 bookings have; so far been confirmed, and at least another 30 are ex--pected to register on th£ first day, according to the editor of the society’s journal (Mr A. H. Christie). The 500 members of the society are mostly scientists, and papers read at the conference will be formally published in the journal, which is of a high scientific standard and is circulated world-wide. Mr Christie said that because the gathering was almost entirely of profes-. Isional ecologists, the papers-, presented were discussed? [and examined closely.■
