Dead youth named
PA Nelson The schoolboy killed instantly in Nelson on Monday evening when his motorcycle and a car collided on Main Road, Stoke, was Tony Craig Gosling, aged 16, of Scotia Street.
The accident occurred at 7.45 p.m. outside the Stoke Fire Station.
The motor-cycle and the car (shown at left) were both extensively damaged, but the driver of the car, Mr A. M. Price, aged 18, was not injured. To noon yesterday, 451 traffic deaths this year had been reported to the Ministry of Transport. At the corresponding time last year, the total was 393. The toll so far this month is 58, compared with 28 at the same time last August.
