N.Z. MARKET IN BALANCE

The New Zealand sharemarket took on a firmer tone yesterday, with rises and falls in the balance. Dominion Fertiliser rose 5c to 410 c —15 c above the bid made by the Ravensdown Fertiliser Company. Arthur Barnett rose 5c on its higher profit and dividend announcement. Transporters, financiers, cement companies, meat companies, timber and retailers were all mixed.
