Transport policy meetings
The Minister of Transport (Mr McLachlan) has taken issue with a statement published in “The Press” on Monday.
It was alleged in "The Press” that road operators had difficulty in getting access to the officials’ committee which is considering implementation of the new transport policy, Mr McLachlan said. “I want to make it clear that the Road Transport Association has access to that committee and has been meeting with it.
“The Road Trnasport Committee has also met me twice in a matter of days and another meeting has been arranged to consider matters including the road taxation proposal. The Transport Advisory Council has also met to consider the implementation of the policy,” he said.
