New Jaycee chapter
A new Jaycee Chapter for the Shirley, Burwood, and Parklands districts will be inaugurated on Wednesday. An embryo chapter held its first meeting last month, j when 40 persons indicated! they would join. Members) will be inducted on Wednes-) day and formal motions will ' incorporato the chapter. The decision was made to I form the chapter when a sur-. vey showed that sudden growth in the area had created needs in the community. The Mayor of Christchurch (Mr H. G. Hay), Cr J. B. Russ (Waimairi County Council), and Mrs M. D. Batchelor, the member of Parliament for Avon, will address the meeting.
