Harrows win indoor bowls
Les and Mavis Harrow came sway over the final ends to win tne husband and wife indoor bowls championship at Kearneys Road hall at the week-end.
After six ends of the final, June and John Boone led the Harrows. 5-2. but that was to be the end of scoring for the Boones. The Harrows gained a single on the seventh end and the eighth was drawn. A further single on the ninth enabled the Harrows to reduce tlie deficit to one and they went ahead with a three on the tenth end They added another two on ‘ » eleventh end and Mrs Boone killed the jack on the last end fo give the Harrows a decisive rictory. 12-5. tn the semi-finals. Les Harrow lad a narrow win against his r'ub-mate Keith Becker, and Mrs Boone easily accounted for Mrs I Gale From the 195 pairs enured. 65 qualified for postlotion play. Results were:— _ , „ .
