Crane boom damaged
PA Wellington Delays at the Thorndon container terminal because of the damage to the second container crane were described as serious by the general manager of the Wellington Harbour Board (Mr J. F. Stewart).
A crane on board the Columbus Carabic hit a boom on the container crane more than a week ago, and buckled it. Bad weather and difficulty in getting to the boom have delayed repairs.
