Two men drown
PA Blenheim Two elderly men were drowned on Thursday while on a fishing trip in Queen Charlotte Sound. Searchers found one body last night, and that of the second man was found by divers this morning. The men were William John Thorne, aged 70, of Oxford Terrace, Lower Hutt; and Sydney Smith, aged 72, who lived in retirement with his wife at Endeavour Inlet, Queen Charlotte Sound. They had gone fishing in an aluminium dinghy.
