initiative in collecting the money, and sources from which contributions came. A small committee representing contributing groups met yesterday to decide how the $3200 would be spent Money given through Cashmere High School from students. teachers, the Parent Teacher Association, and individuals totalled $l6OO The Malaysian Students’ Association collecting almost exclusively from
Malaysian students and employees, raised another $l6OO. The committee decided that since most public funds came through the school, the school contribution would meet the expenses the appeal was originally intended to rover — transport uf the body home — and the additional costs of the Christchurch funeral service and the Malaysian funeral.
