It is expected that the appointee would be familiar with steel terminology, or have a preference for technical work. Duties would include handling telephone and eprsonal enquiries from steel merchants, manufacturers and designers, often when other company personnel are absent on field trips: the operation of telex and telecopier machines which link with Head Office and two other sales offices: typing of letters and reports, filing, and custody of office and customer records. This is a responsible position, and applicants must be absolutely reliable and prepared to work hard in what is an interesting and diverse post. Wages for the right person are above average. Remuneration and conditions of employment are similar to those on conventional vessels.
