We do not see much Oriental art sold in Canterbury, however, a fine collection of jades, ivories, and seventeenth century ceramics will be offered by R. G. Bell and Company at Kaiapoi, on August IL Signed paintings of nice size by P. Vander Velden, Frances Hodgkins, a seventeenth century work attributed to Sir Peter Lely and other important pictures, lovely jewellery, fine furniture and other pieces of exceptional interest are in the catalogue.
