NZPA Dunedin The Lowburn Curling Club wrote itself into the record books at the week-end when 'it established two world records for continuous cur- ' ling. Two four member male curling teams finally laid down their curling stones Just before 10.30 a.m. after Icompleiing precisely 42hr 29m in 27sec of continuous play. i Two women curlers stopped play at the same .time aftei completing 12hr :9mm 27sec of continuous i PlayThe two times will automatically become world records, as there are no re-! ! corded times for continuous play on an outdoor rink. The only comparable times art 42hr 4min, by eight Scottish curlers on an indoor rink and 14hr 14min, recorded by two Canadians (also on an indoor rink. Rugby.—Queensland beat Bay of Plenty. 29-22. in a representative rugby match at Rotorua stadium on Saturday. Queensland swept away to score three tries ,ln the last six minutes of the first half to lead 29-13 at halftime.
