Rebecca Perrott wins
Rebecca Perrott, of New Zealand, won her heat in Olympic record time at Montreal early today. She has almost certainly assured herself a place in the final of the women’s 400 metres freestyle with a time of 4min 15.71. It beat the old Olympic record by more than three seconds.
