LINCOLN AGENT MOVES
Addington saleyards has lost a well-known auctioneer, and the Lincoln district a popular agent, with the transfer of Mr C. H. Cockburn, to Ashburton.
Mr Cockburn has been with Pyne. Gould, Guinness Ltd for 20 years, and for 11 years was the firm’s representative at Lincoln. During his years at the Addington yards he sold thousands of prime lambs, prime sheep, store sheep and pigs. But it was in the
field of machinery that he established a particular niche. He was able to put a current market value on all manner of things. Coming originally from Otago, Mr Cockburn obtained his diploma of valuation and farm management at Lincoln in the early 19505, after which he
entered the stock and station field. He is now in the land department of his firm’s Ashburton office. His place at Lincoln has been taken by Mr H. L. Keenan.
