Libraries to open longer
The Fendalton and Redwood Libraries are to open on Saturdays from 9.30 a.m. to noon for a six-month trial starting on July 10. The Waimairi County Council decided that opening the libraries on Saturdays would give more people an opportunity to use them. A council meeting had been told that working people in particular were often unable to use the libraries during week-days. The Fendalton Library will now open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on week-days and the Redwood and Bishopdale Libraries from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays, closing at 5.30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
