A broad belt of rain across the North Island is moving south. A ridge of high pressure extends across the South Tasman Sea. elsewhere; colder, with periods of rain in Marlborough: cloudy, with moderate temperatures, in Nelson. Buller. Westland: Light or moderate easterly winds; cloudy; cool to moderate temperatures. Canterbury’: Moderate or fresh winds between south and south-east; cold, with rain. Outlook: Unsettled in the east, fair in the west.
