Kotare Charger has sound chance tonight
Kotare Charger will have to improve verylittle on his fourth placing last Saturday night to complete the oncourse treble at Addington Raceway this evening. None of the three to finish in front of him last week, when he was having his second race start, are engaged in the Young Charles Stakes, a race in which few of those down to start from the front have shown much form. Kotare Charger is certain to have benefited greatly from last week’s race and he should be the hardest to beat. The Southland-owned and
'trained colt. Sapling, failed to do better than ninth in his ifirst appearance on Addington Raceway He is a talented young pacer well capable of reinstating himself with a [bold run in this event, which is unlikely to be as testing ias it was "last Saturday when I Ruling Lobell applied the 'pressure over the last 1200 m. Michael’s Advice put in an amazing run to finish fifth last Saturday. He will only have to begin a little better to take a prominent part in the finish. Armbro Dhu apeals most of the others on the front, but a bold showing from Springfield Prince will not surprise, i Yukon John, which will start I from 10m, appeals more than I his co-marker. Sunseeker.
Ruling Lobell stands out in the Robin Dundee Stakes, an event restricted to fillies. She will start from 20m, the same mark which applied when she beat an open field last Saturday. This field looks stronger than the one for colts and geldings and it should be more keenly contested. Remorse, which has finished third in the last two of three race starts, looks the one most likely to extend Ruling Lobell. Remorse is in the Oamaru Juvenile Stakes on Saturday and this race could give a line on her prospects in the south. Tact Del, Morano Lobell, Seafield Majesty and Gianna are others expected to add interest to the finish.
