Chch ward hearings

Submissions on possible Christchurch City Council ward boundary 7 changes will be reviewed in two public hearings in June. Yesterday, the special three - member committee formed to study wards set all-day hearings for June 22 and 24.

The committee chairman (Mr E. A. Lee, S.M.) said that some groups which made submissions would be specifically invited to attend the hearings. Others have the option of presenting their cases in person if they wish. Earlier this year, the council appointed the independent committee to come forward with proposals before the 1977 local body elections. Other committee members are Sir Terence McCombs and Mr H. P. Smith.
