Invitation for chess juniors

The Otago Chess Club has; extended a national invitation! to school pupils in Form 111 and below to compete in the ) Otago open primary and inter-1 ; mediate tournament at its! ‘ clubrooms during the May ’ holidays. The tournament has been divided into three grades. Players of above average ability and irrespective of age will play in the A grade. The B grade is for other players 10 years and over. Players under 10 on May 1 comprise the C grade. There will be 12 sessions, with two grades playing in each session and each grade playing eight rounds. ) Entries for the tournaI ment, which will be held {from May 10 to 12, will close ion May 8.
