Oil pipeline reviewed
<N.Z. Press Xssocifliiom WHANGAREI. March 10. The s2sm Marsden PointAuckland oil pipeline plan is being reviewed by the Government. according to the Attorney-General and M.P. for Rodney (Mr P. I. Wilkinson). The Labour Government last year approved the project. estimating a completion date of 1978. The 158 km pipeline was to carrv refined oil products, including iet fuel and kerosene. In Wellington. Mr Wilkinson was unable to comment further on the Government’s policy regarding the pipeline.
S.A.N.Z. director. — Mr Denys R. M. Pinfold, has been appointed director of the Standards Association of New Zealand with effect from June 1. He will begin to take up his duties in Anril. A chartered engineer, he has nreviously held positions in the oil industry — both in New Zealand and overseas — and with manufacturing companies in New Zealand. He will succeed Mr Gerald H. Edwards, who is retiring after almost 10 years with the Standards Association. — (P.A.)
