$2m ransom frees man
O Z P A Meurer—Copy rt PARIS. March 10. The director of the French sales subsidiary of the Swedish car firm Saab, who was kidnapped in Paris 35 days ago, was released unharmed last night after his family paid a 10m francs (about s2m) ransom. Mr Guy Thodorof, aged 35, was set free a fewhours after a family friend deposited the ransom in a Paris street, his father, a wealthy businessman, told reporters. According to friends. Mr Thodorof was forced bv his captors to live on a bed for a month.
The ransom was apparently paid without the knowledge of the police, who two weeks ago intercepted the money in an attempt to arrest the kidnappers.
