Detective game

“Whodunit” on TVI on Christmas night, is a panel game for amateur detectives. It is introduced by a short, dramatised crime (liberally sprinkled with clues) which the panellists then use to track down the guilty party. This is a format which has made it the most popular panel show in British television. Edward Woodward (of “Callan” fame) was the first chairman, to be replaced later in the series by John Pertwee.

Guests in the series include thriller writers like Dick Francis and Kingsley Amis, and screen stars such as Billie Whitelaw. The first programme is a special Christmas edition from the series with guests Wendy Craig and Derek Nimmo as panellists.
