Tabak loses to Jesson
Paul Jesson, the Olympic prospect, narrowly beat Tino Tabak, one of New Zealand’s best-known cyclists 10 years ago, in the first pro-am race in the country at Ruapuna yesterday. In the 25-1 ap race, the climax of the Hornby Working Men’s Club criteriums, Jesson finished with 121 points, just 14 clear of Tabak. Novice (four laps).—P. Tutty 1, M. McKernon 2, R.
