Sheddan out
A leg injury has forced the New Zealand junior 150 C metres champion, Warren Sheddan (Olympic) to withdraw from the Canterbury athletic team to compete against Otago and Southland at Queen Elizabeth II Park on Saturday. Bruce Hunter (UmversityShirley) has been switched |from the 800 me at his own request to replace Sheddan. The reigning New Zealland 800 metres champion. Hunter was nominated for j the shorter distance in error by his club. ; The runner he is now scheduled to partner tn the 1500 metres, the provincial champion, Frank Brookes (Technical), is still a doubtful starter. He has b-'°n having treatment for a tendon injury in a knee and will decide today whether to run on Saturday. Another athlete in doubt is the New Zealand high jump champion. Peter Crampton (Cashmere), who also has a leg injury. One athlete has been added Ito the team. Robert Lindsay (University-Shirley) will I replace Hunter in the 800 [metres. His partner in this will be Trevor Cochrane (High [School Old Boys), a strong [favourite to win.
