Chappell warned
(N.Z. Press Assn—Copyright) ADELAIDE.
The former Australian test captain, lan Chappell, has been warned by the South Australian Cricket Association that any further misconduct might lead to his suspension.
Chappell appeared before a sub-committee of the S.A.C.A. late yesterday to answer charges of alleged misconduct during the match between South Australia and New South Wales on Monday. He was given a stern warning, but no further action was taken.
A sub-committee spokesman said Chappell was cited to appear because of reports of bad language and the bowling of 16 head-high full tosses to New South Wales batsmen.
Chappell lowered his pants at one stage while he was batting, but he said later his protector had been causing him discomfort, and it seemed the natural thing at the time to adjust it. The spokesman said more South Australian players would be cited to appear as soon as they could be notified.
