House fire at Brighton
Fire severely damaged the back part of an old house at 155 Bowhill Road, North New Brighton, on Friday afternoon.
The house was well alight ■ when the brigade arrived I about 4 p.m. Firemen used three hoses and wore breathing apparatus inside the building.
Mr G. J. Bennett, who rented the house, said that no-one was at home when i the fire began. Damage was Imainlv to the kitchen, bath[room, and a bedroom. One engine from New Brighton and another from the Central Fire Station attended the fire.
