A former comptroller of the United Nations in New York, Mr B. R. Turner, returned to Christchurch yesterday and invited two old schoolmates and a master to lunch in the Cascade Room in the Town Hall, The fellow pupils of his time at Christchurch Boys’ High School in the late 1920s were Mr A. T. Campbell, a former public relations officer with the New Zealand High Commission, London, and Mr W. J. A. Brittenden, a Christchurch city councillor and a former headmaster of Aranui High School. The master was Mr S. R. Cuming, whose long teaching career at Boys’ High is almost legendary. In the photograph (from left) are Mrs Turner, Mr Campbell, Mrs Brittenden, Mr Cuming, Mrs Campbell, Mr Turner, and Mr Brittenden.
