Rams slow to sell at Ashburton
There was little demand at the Ashburton Agricultural and Pastoral Association’s wool breeds ram fair yesterday. Nearly half the rams were not sold. The fair was described as “very quiet” by Wrightson NMA, one of the associated auctioneers at the sale.
Prices ranged from $54 to $35 in both the Romney and the Corriedale flock ram sales. The top price of $54 was reached by a Romney ram auctioned by Wrightson NMA on account of R. Oakley of Mary Oak farm, Mayfield, and bought by R. J. Hill of Methven. Mr R. Oakley sold another Romney for $5O.
i In the Corriedale flock ram {section, Wrightson NMA fetched i $5O for a Corriedale ram on behalf of K. V. Hood. Somerton. It was sold to T. G. Lilley and Sons A Corriedale ram was sold by New Zealand Farmers’ on account of Mrs N. R. Amos for $5O. The purchaser was A. N. Watson.
