Bangkok brawl
A Thai newspaper photographer was killed and Bangkok’s police chief was wounded by gunfire during a battle between rival student groups in Bangkok late last night. The “Bangkok Post”— Mr Cherchuchai’s newspaper—says that more than 100 of the students were armed with rifles, shotguns, or pistols, and had a large stockpile of petrol-bombs. — Bangkok, Jan. 23.
