Caravan ransacked
A 25ft caravan valued at $5500 was towed away from a saleyard in Northcote at the weekend and ransacked. The caravan, which had arrived in Christchurch from the manufacturer on Saturday evening, was removed a few hours later from the Caravan Centre. 164 Main North Road. It was found early on Sunday about two miles away, in the middle of Winters
Copies of the Government economic statement will be available from the Government Book Shop in Christchurch this afternoon. They will cost 45c each.

Windows had been broken, a $ll5 refrigerator stolen, and the fittings — including upholstery, bedding, and a toilet — removed. “It seems that they had had a party in it — the windows had been smashed with beer bottles, and beer had been splashed about inside,” said Mrs E. J. McGregor, wife of the manager of the Caravan Centre. “Nothing like this has happened to us in the 27 years we have been selling caravans.”
Damage to the caravan has been assessed at more than $6OO. The Christchurch C. 1.8. would like to hear from anyone who saw the caravan, painted white with a red stripe down the side, being towed on Saturday night.
