SUPREME COURT Jury finds two men not guilty
Rodney Warwick Burt, aged 24. and Julian Thomas Barbarich, aged 28, prison inmates, were found not guilty by a jury in the Supreme Court yesterday on a charge of burglary of the premises of W. T* Murray,' Ltd. Antigua Street, on July 8. Mr Justice Macarthur discharged both accused. Mr N. W. Williamson appeared for the Crowe, Mr RB. Venning for Burt, and Mr M. J. Glue for Barbarich. 1 Both accused pleaded not' guilty. Evidence was given that: the two accused and twoother men were apprehended after they broke into the Hornby Working Men’s Club. Tools found on the club premises were stolen from the premises of W. T. Mur-; ray, Ltd, which were broken ■into three nights before. Two footprints found in the firm’s building were made by the shoes worn by Bar-; barich when he was appre--hended. The only witne.ss called by the defence, Michael Roland Poharama, a prison inmate, said that he alone committed the burglary of W. T. Mur-i ray, Ltd. He took the tools,:
and Barbarich was wearing witness’s shoes when he was apprehended at Hornby.
