tßy CELIA TIMMS) For those who like whitebait and pizza pie, this recipe for Whitebait Pizza will appeal to both tastes. The recipe makes enough for an eight-inch pie. You will need:— 2 cups self-raising flour 2 oz softened butter Salt Lemon juice Milk 1 measure (fishmonger’s glass) whitebait 1 small onion 2 small tomatoes i cup grated cheddar cheese Salt and pepper Chopped parsley Method: Sift flour with salt and rub in the softened butter: add a little lemon juice and mix to a soft dough with milk. Turn on to a lightly floured board and knead lightly then roll very thin (about a quarter-inch in thickness). Line a 8-9 inch pie or pizza plate and flute edge. Prick base well with a fork if an ordinary 7 pie plate is used. Saute the grated onion in a little butter until soft and spread this over the pastry base. Peel tomatoes and slice thinly and arrange on top of onion. Spread washed and well-drained whitebait evenly' over tomato. Season with salt and pepper and cover with grated cheese. Cook at 350 for 30 mins and sprinkle with parsley. Ninety-five per• cent of babies bom in Christchurch were seen by; Plunket Nurses. There was; an increase of mothers ; breast feeding for longer periods. Fifty-two per cent, of babies were having some breast milk when first visited by Plunket nurses, she said.
