New type of waggon

: fN Z. Pre»» Attociatton) WELLINGTON. A new class of waggon is being added to the New Zealand Railways fleet of rolling stock. The waggon, to be classified OD, is a double-decked bogie car transporter, and can carry eight cars in two tiers of four. The Minister of Railways (Mr Bailey) said that the class would consist of 10 waggons to be used primarily on the Wellington-Auckland route where there was a heavy traffic in built-up motor-vehicles. “The waggons will help New Zealand’s growing car industry to speed up delivery to the public,” he said. The new rolling stock has been designed and built by the New Zealand Railways.
