NO MOVE TO LIMIT SKYHAWK
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Oct. 21. The R.N.Z.A.F. has no immediate plans to limit the flying of the 13 remaining Skyhawk aircraft after the crash near Ohakea last Friday. An R.N.Z.A.F. spokesman today said the aircraft were being prepared for an exercise at Singapore later this month. The main part of the wreckage of the Skyhawk which crashed was taken to Ohakea today by helicopter. The aircraft engine will be removed from the airframe and taken to the R.N.Z.A.F. repair depot at Woodbourne for inspection. So far no recommendation had been made by the R.N.Z.A.F. about a replacement for the crashed Skyhawk, the spokesman said. If a replacement were to be sought, a recommendation would be put before the Government, he said. The pilot of the crashed; Skyhawk, Wing Commander F. M. Kinvig, is in “quite comfortable’’ condition in Palmerston North Hospital.
