DAMAGES AWARDED
(N.Z. Press Assn—Copyright) SAN DIEGO. Mrs Annette Godsey has been awarded $U5745,000 from Sea World for permanent scarring to her legs by Shamu, the killer whale she ■ rode for publicity pictures. Mrs Godsey had sued the aquatic amusement park for i$US2m. She was a Sea World secretary when the incident took place on April 19, 1971, but the Superior Court jury in its verdict ruled that she was not acting in the course of her employment. Films showed Mrs Godsey, who was wearing a bikini, falling off the whale, and the whale gripping her legs in its jaws while attendants struggled to pull her loose.
