Natural gas t’l ” at works i 3' The New Zealand Refrigerating Company’s Imlay t works at Wanganui has gone 1 over to natural gas. f The gas supplied through tithe Wanganui City Council's - gas department, fires three 20.0001 b per hour boilers, e which provide all the steam e. requirements of the works. Imlay'is the first big meat (works in New Zealand to use the gas. The superintendent engineer for the company, Mr R. . M. Simmers, described the e gas as “nice clean fuel.” There was no soot or sulj phur with the gas; no chime ney was required, only ext'haust pipes, and it was fimuch cleaner than oil.
