Pitman on visit

Mr P. Pitman, the greatgrandson of the inventor of Pitman shorthand, arrived in Christchurch on Sunday for the first stage of a tour of the New Zealand business community. He will be in the countryuntil Friday speaking with' leaders in business education about training in secretarial; skills, and the latest develop-’ ments in Pitman’s shorthand —Pitman 2000. He is in charge of the training division of the Pit-' man group. The division is; introducing a new inter-; national secretarial course which includes job-related: training in European lan-: guages.

Mr Pitman visited the Christchurch Secondary Teachers’ College and Christchurch Technical Institute.
