WARTBURG BAN
The Wartburg two-stroke car, which is made in East Germany, may no longer be imported into Britain and other Common Market countries because it has failed European exhaust emission tests. About 2000 cars have been stockpiled by the British importers in expectation of the ban, and it is hoped that by the end of the year the East German company will have modified new cars to meet the standards.
