The profit growth of Concrete Industries (Monier), Ltd, Australia, which had risen by over 30 per cent in recent years, has fallen back to 14 per cent in the year to June 30. After adopting tax effect accounting for the first time, the group net profit rose to ss.lm. Before the accounting change, the 1972-73 net profit shown as s4.Bm, was given as $4.3m. The company is to make a one-for-five issue at 50c par to raise $4.4m for expansion purposes. The annual dividend has been raised from 12 to 14 per cent. Transdev bonus
The group net profit of Transport Development Australia, Ltd. rose 39.5 per cent to $707,677 for the year to June 30. Provision for taxation was $192,036 higher at $636,671 and depreciation was $77,659 higher at $409,128. The directors have declared a final ordinary dividend of 84 per cent, making a total of 16 per cent, 2 per cent higher than last year. The unaudited group net profit of Maui Brothers and Thompston, Ltd, rose 14.0 per cent to $3,832,790 in the year to May 31. Provision for taxation was $405,345 higher at $3,201,069 and depreciation $67,242 higher at $842,922. An item not in the group profit was a profit of $131,563.
