Pattison, the chairman of the company, at; the annual meeting of share-! holders. Mr Pattison said new print-! ;ing presses and associated; ,nlant. established in a newly; constructed press hall at; Ellerslie, would take care of j the growth of the “New Zea-1 ‘land Herald” for many years! Ito come. The new presses also en-i abied the maximum size of; the “Herald” to be increased? progressively to 112 pages i and permitted the printing of I the newspaper in a very : flexible range of sections, [sizes and broad sheet and i tabloid combinations. ; The reinvestment and [ development designed to I meet the publishing and Sprinting requirements of the later 1970 s and the 1980 s was ‘now virtually complete, Mr i Pattison said. The company I had probably never been better placed to accept the prospect and the challenge of a period of major and subi stantial expansion.
