Farm trailers

Sir, — Does this Government think all farmers are silly? Then why the increase from 70 cents to $6.80 for a light trailer to bring the odd bag of seed etc. home in? And just what has Federated Farmers done about it? At this late date, nothing, as■ usual. — Yours, etc., FED UP. June 28, 1974. [The Chief Postmaster (Mr M. T. Reedy) replies: “The relicensing fees payable for farmers’ vehicles are rather complex, being dependent upon the purpose for which the vehicles are used. In this case there seems to be some confusion and I would suggest that ‘Fed Up’ get in touch with the supervisor, Motor Registration Branch, Christchurch (telephone 71-839, extension 888) who will be pleased to clear up any misunderstanding. If an overpayment has occurred, action can then be taken to arrange a refund.”]
