New Zealands first new daily newspaper in 28 years published its first edition in Tauranga early today. It is the “Bay of Plenty Mirror, published bv Mirror Newspapers, Ltd. The first issue of the tabloid newspaper contained 28 pages. For the last 3! years the “Mirror” had been issued as a free, bi-weekly paper over a large area of the Bav of Plenty.
The company's managingdirector (Mr M. Bird) said today that the daily newspaper would circulate from Te Kaha to Waihi. including Tauranga, Mount Maunganui, Kawerau, Te Puke. Whakatane and Opotiki.
