Forecasts: MARLBOROUGH SOUNDS, KAIKOURA COAST. — Southerlies to gale force in exposed places; cold; rain easing slowly to showers during the day. NELSON, CENTRAL MARLBOROUGH, BULLER, WESTLAND. — Moderate winds between south and east; some cloudy areas and a few showers in the ranges, otherwise mainly fair; moderate day temperatures. CANTERBURY. — Cold south-easterlies still strong about the coast with showers, but mainly fair with light winds inland. OUTLOOK. — Showers about the Sounds and along the east coast, elsewhere fine or becoming fine.
