Changes to the interior of the Roman Catholic Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament. Barbadoes Street, can proceed without the opposition of the Christchurch City Council.

The council last night approved the alterations as proposed and decided that further argument lay with the Church itself The council amended its by-law concerning the preservation of historic buildings and buildings of architectural interest as a result of the problem created by the Cathedral.
