The Rev. P. N. Wright, vicar of Otaio and Blue Cliffs, has been appointed assistant priest to the Rev. M. H Brown, vicar of Merivale.
Mr Wright was ordained in 1939, and served in the Diocese of Auckland until 1942, after which he was a chaplain in the armed force* for four years.
In the Christchurch Diocese, he served as vicar of Fairlie, Christchurch - St Luke’s, and Kaiapoi, and as chaplain to the Canterburv division of the naval volunteer reserve.
In 1968, he was appointed' vicar of his present parish, and is expected to take up his new appointment towards I the end of June. The Ven. K. O. Bathurst has been appointed Archdeacon of Sumner, replacing the Ven. W. M. Davies, now warden of St John’s College, 'Auckland.
