Kraft not taking up option
AV.2 P.A. Staff Corresponded! WASHINGTON. April 18. The Kraft Company, of the United States, will not take up its option to establish its own cheeseprocessing plant in New Zealand independent of Rutland Industries, of Auckland.
This was emphasised today by the president of Kraft’s international division (Mr H. M. Connelly) in an interview at Philadelphia on the eve of the company’s annual meeting. He indicated that If the company were to proceed with its effort to win association with Butland Industries, its take-over bid would probably be re-submitted within the next six weeks. In the meantime, he added, the company wanted to have the issues involved in hs move to acquire a majority interest in . Butland Industries reviewed in a “less emotional” atmosphere.
