I (From Our 'Ou>n Reporter) | NELSON. ■ A six-man Electricity i Department line -gang on [Tuesday slogged through' swollen streams and rivers' dragging equipment and [heavy insulators with them to' (replace five insulators shot] away by rifle fire in the] Takaka area at the weekend. The Nelson district man-; ager of the department (Mr! G. E. Hollis) was unstinting] tonight in his praise for the ! men. ; “The three lines serve alii the Golden Bay Electric] Power Board consumers, jn-[ eluding two big ones, and; the men completed the job so quickly that we only had* to turn off power for 50: minutes,” he said. At one spot the only way: the gang could cross a 1 * flooded stream was over a fallen willow tree. Once across they then had to drag their equipment over.
